I recently started reading King Dork by Frank Portman. I like it and recommend it as a slightly dysfunctional read that is easy to get through, though it does not have much of a plot. It tends to have a sort of The Catcher In The Rye-theme going on.
It's about a boy named Tom Henderson (aka Chi-Mo(he took a career test once and one of the options was clergy, therefore resulting in the nickname "child molester" then shorten to Chi-Mo)). It has many confusing acronynms for phrases but gets easier the more you read.
P.S. Don't see Definantly, Maybe (movie)....it was bad...really bad..
P.P.S. If anyone has read the book please put a (probably) more coherent review of it in the comments.

gosh, this makes me angry. it just deleted my comment.
what i said was, it was okay, but it was like seeing into the mind of one of the grosser guys at my school, and i wondered if i'd really wanted to see that in the first place. oh well. =]
but if you liked it at all, read "The messenger" by some dude. excellent stuff. really really good, kind of the same feel as "King Dork", but much better characters, much better plot, and actually had some intelligent thought to it. X]
rock on,
